Land at Phuket International (HKT) at the island's northern end. Indian passport holders enter visa-free for 60 days under Thailand's Form 60 exemption; the Thailand Digital Arrival Card must still be filed online at least three days before departure. Transfer south to the beaches takes 45–60 minutes — Patong is the loud centre, Kata and Karon calmer, Bang Tao and Mai Khao quietest. First evening at the resort.
Phang Nga Bay sits north-east of Phuket, a drowned karst landscape of limestone towers rising sheer from shallow green water. Ko Tapu — the needle of rock from The Man with the Golden Gun — is the headline, though the sea caves and hongs reached by canoe are the better part of the day. Longtail and speedboat trips both run; longtails are slower, quieter and closer to the water.
Phuket Old Town is Sino-Portuguese — shophouses along Thalang and Dibuk Roads built on tin-mining money, now cafés and galleries. The Big Buddha sits 45 metres high on Nakkerd Hill, reached by a winding road with the best view on the island from the top; shoulders and knees covered. Afternoon free for the spa. Thai massage is firm, stretching work rather than a gentle rub — say so if you want it lighter.
Krabi sits across the bay on the mainland — about 165 km by road, three to four hours around the head of Phang Nga Bay, or a shorter ferry-and-road combination. Ao Nang is the main beach base. Railay, just south, has no road access at all: it is cut off by limestone headlands and reached only by longtail boat from Ao Nang, about 15 minutes.
Railay's peninsula holds two beaches — Railay West for sunsets and swimming, Phra Nang Cave Beach around the headland with its shrine of offerings. The limestone walls here are among the best-known climbing in Asia. The Four Islands trip by longtail takes in Chicken Island, Tup, Poda and Phra Nang; at low tide a sandbar surfaces between Tup and Chicken and you can walk between them.
Krabi's west-facing coast makes sunset the fixed point of the evening, and longtail cruises run out from Ao Nang for it. Tiger Cave Temple inland is the other option for the day — 1,260 steps to a summit shrine, genuinely hard in the heat, and best attempted at first light rather than the afternoon. Andaman weather is most settled November to April.
Breakfast and check-out. Krabi International (KBV) is 20–30 minutes from Ao Nang and is small, so queues move quickly; three hours for an international departure is still sensible. If you are routing back through Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang are 50 km apart and not interchangeable at short notice.
